
Andrzej Krasnicki passed away at the age of 75. His death, which occurred following a serious illness, was announced on Friday. President of the Polish Olympic Committee (PKO) from 2010 to 2023, he remained its honorary president. "Polish sport has suffered a great loss", the PKO laments in its tribute. Beyond his functions within the PKO, Andrzej Kraśnicki was a member of the executive committee of the Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC), a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency Foundation Board (AMA) or even president of Polish Handball Association. A sport in which he also developed as a player and coach. His commitment to the service of sport earned him several distinctions, including the Grand Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, awarded by the President of the Republic Andrzej Duda. "The departure of President Andrzej Kraśnicki constitutes a great loss for the world of sport.
