La International Table Tennis Day was celebrated on April 23rd across the world. ITTF President Petra Sörling was there for the occasion in Nairobi (Kenya), where were organized mixed doubles tournaments, round tables and musical performances. World Table Tennis Day is an opportunity to celebrate the people behind the sport and the power of table tennis to bring communities together, said Petra Sörling, candidate for re-election. It was a true honor to witness this spirit in action here in Kenya. »
She commended the way Kenya, through the Vision Changers organization, has used table tennis to prevent violence and create bonds with more than 800 young people. “On the social level, we need to think about how we can open doors for the next generation, insists Sörling. Diversity and inclusion are not just one-day themes. They are values that we must live by every day."
