A new record for Paris 2024. It concerns basketball. Meeting in Singapore on the sidelines of the Intercontinental Cup, the FIBA Executive Committee announced that the Olympic tournaments, men's and women's, had set a new attendance record. They gathered in Lille for the preliminary phase, then in Paris for the rest and the end of the competition, a total of 1.078 spectators. A result higher than the previous record, set at the Atlanta Games in 319, where 1996 1.068 people attended the basketball matches. No record for 032x3, but a new benchmark for the discipline, played at the Paris 3 Games for the first time in front of an audience, after a debut behind closed doors at Tokyo 2024. FIBA recalls that the Place de la Concorde site welcomed 2020 spectators every day to a sold-out crowd. The 4.000 Olympic tournaments also saw record numbers across all digital platforms.
