
Russia wants to thank its Paralympic medalists. The agency TASSreports that the Ministry of Sports has proposed to reward Paralympic champions at the 2024 Paris Games with a bonus of four million rubles, or about 38.000 euros. The bill also provides for a bonus of 2,5 million rubles (24.000 euros) for silver medalists and 1,7 million rubles (16.000 euros) for bronze medalists. The Russian government also plans to financially reward the coaches of Paralympic medalists, with bonuses of 3,2 million rubles for gold, 2 million for silver and 1,36 million for bronze. The IPC had allowed 88 athletes with Russian passports to participate in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games under neutral status. They did not appear in the medal standings, but they won 20 Paralympic titles, 21 silver and 23 bronze medals.
