
Very offensive in recent weeks, Paraguay ticked a first box by obtaining the organization of the World Skate Games 2026.The contract was officially signed on Wednesday in the presence of the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, and the president of World Skate, Sabatino Aracu. “With the support of President Peña, we are delighted that Paraguay will host another major sporting event with the World Skate Games 2026. This event will have an extremely positive economic impact for Paraguay and we are convinced that athletes from all over the world will have an unforgettable experience", reacted the president of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, Camilo Pérez López Moreira. The previous edition of the World Skate Games was held in Rome in 2024. More than 10.000 athletes from 90 countries had been able to express themselves in skateboard, roller skates and scooter in multiple formats (freestyle, speed, slalom, etc.). The program also included an eSport category. This event generated an economic impact of 439 million euros and attracted 40 tourists.Paraguay also aims to organize the 2030 Youth Olympic Games and the 2031 Pan American Games.
