The Vice President of the International Karate Federation (WKF), Wolfgang Weigert, attended the General Assembly of the International Paralympic Committee in Seoul. The opportunity for the IF to support its alignment with the IPC's vision as well as its commitment to the inclusion of para karate in the Paralympic GamesWolfgang Weigert spoke directly with IPC President Andrew Parsons about the development of para karate. He also spoke with Robyn Smith, who serves as both an IPC board member and director of Sport Inclusion Australia – a significant milestone in the run-up to Brisbane 2032.
WKF President Antonio Espinós, thanked his vice president for his presence in Seoul and pleaded his case: " Para karate brings real added value to the Paralympic Games. It combines inclusiveness, athletic excellence and strong global appeal, and this discipline would be an additional asset for the Paralympic Games. Furthermore, if para karate were included in the Paralympic Games, it would further highlight the sport's outstanding contribution to people with disabilities and society as a whole. »
