Representatives from the city of Orlando traveled to Lausanne on Tuesday to discuss potential collaborations with the International Volleyball FederationOrlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings were among those on the trip. After a tour of the House of Volleyball, the FIVB President Fabio Azevedo, presented the federation's 2032 Strategic Vision to his interlocutors.
"During the visit, discussions took place on the potential hosting and activation opportunities in Orlando in the run-up to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games », the FIVB specifies, despite the 4.000 kilometers of distance between Florida and California. The FI sees these discussions as a demonstration of its ongoing efforts “to raise the profile of volleyball and amplify its reach worldwide”Orlando authorities, very interested in major sporting events, have recently expressed their interest in hosting matches of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2031.
