The coordination committee for the 2030 French Alpine Games is testing the waters. It concludes this Wednesday a three-day visit to Savoie and Haute-SavoieVal d'Isère, Courchevel, La Plagne, La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand… The main resorts considered to host events are all being visited by this delegation. The stop in Val d'Isère on Monday was particularly important: the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee (COJOP) would like to include the resort on the map of venues, but questions remain due to… budgetary constraints.
To support them, personalities such as Jean-Claude Killy and Michel Barnier, the duo who oversaw the organization of Albertville 1992, several members of the COJOP athletes' commission (Margot Boch, Romain Heinrich, Marie Martinod), or Sports Minister Marina FerrariRepresented, among others, by Edgar Grospiron, the COJOP intends to take advantage of this visit to convince the IOC of the relevance of its plansA board meeting is also scheduled for December 15th. It will notably allow for further discussions on the site map.
