Coincidence of the calendar. A little more than two months after Boston withdrew from the race for the 2024 Games, a delegation of American Olympic athletes is traveling to the Massachusetts capital this week. A “long-planned” visit, according to the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), organized as part of the “Road to Rio Tour”. In Boston as in the rest of the country, Olympians, past and present, have the mission of building public support for the Olympic team as the Rio Games approach.
