The Volleyball Nations League returns to Lodz. Already host of the men's Final 8 last year, the Polish city will host the women's finals this year. Volleyball World, the events branch of the international federation (FIVB), made the award official in a statement, specifying that the matches will take place at the Atlas Arena, from July 23 to 27. No wonder since Poland is a heavyweight in international volleyball. The country has organized all or part of the Men's European Championship in 2013, 2017 and 2021, the Women's European Championship in 2019, as well as the World Championships in 2014 (men) and 2022 (men and women). The United States (2018, 2019, 2021), Italy (2022, 2024) and Turkey (2023) shared the first six editions of the Nations League. Last year, the women's Final 8 took place in Bangkok.
The men's finals will take place immediately afterwards, from July 30 to August 3, in Ningbo, in China, at the Ningbo Beilun Sports and Arts Center. The two stages of the 2024 Women's VNL held in Macau and Hong Kong had achieved impressive audiences in the country (268 million viewers in total), which bodes well for Volleyball World. France (2022, 2024), Russia (2018, 2019), Brazil (2021) and Poland (2023) are the four nations to have already won the competition masculine. As the host country, China is certain of being part of the Final 8, like Poland in the women's tournament, regardless of their ranking in the preliminary phase.
