Morocco will be able to play in 2017 and 2019

CAN

Morocco can breathe a big sigh of relief. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) canceled, Thursday April 2, the sporting sanctions taken by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) against Morocco, which had refused to organize the CAN 2017 due to the Ebola virus. As a result, its national team is authorized to compete in the 2017 and 2019 African Cups of Nations. "The suspension of the national team of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) from any participation in the next two editions of the African Cup "Africa of Nations, in 2017 and 2019, is annulled", ruled the CAS. The court also annulled the heavy financial sanctions imposed on the Moroccan Federation. The FRMF was ordered by the CAF to pay nearly 9 million euros, a fine of a million dollars (882.000 euros) and eight million euros for reparations and damages.
