More than 120.000 euros of damage to the Châteauroux shooting range

Paris 2024

The party was great, but Châteauroux has a hangover. France Blue Berry reports that the organization of the shooting events of the Paris 2024 Games at the National Shooting Center (CNTS) of the prefecture of the Indre department has resulted in a great deal of damage. The bill amounts to more than 120.000 euros. It could climb to 150.000 euros. Part of these expenses had been anticipated: it concerns the return of the stand to the same configuration as before the Games, including the removal of the air conditioning. But the costs are far higher than expected. Alain Joly, the vice-president of the French Shooting Federation, explained this to France Bleu : " The beautiful plastic floor of the final stand has been scratched in all directions. It costs 37.000 euros. People were in a hurry to leave, to uninstall everything and they drove with the pallet truck. They don't take all the precautions". Still according to Alain Joly, the invoice was sent to the COJO Paris 2024. " They play the game and validate our quotes,” assured the elected official.
