More and more women on UCI committees

Cycling

The UCI commissions are now complete for the 2025-2029 period, and they include a greater representation of women. They were 32% over the previous cycle (59 out of a total of 184 members), and they now represent 40%. A significant increase. These committees have also made progress in terms of geographic diversity : 67 countries are represented (compared to 56 during the previous period). Europe is losing some ground (38,8% of members compared to 44,6% previously), which primarily benefits Africa (20,9%) and Oceania (4,5%). Asia (17,9%) and America (17,9%) remain at a similar level.

« By strengthening the presence of women and ensuring a more balanced representation of the different continents within its Commissions, The UCI confirms its commitment to a more inclusive governance modelPresident David Lappartient commented in a statement. The new composition of our Committees reflects the growing diversity of world cycling and will allow them to play a stronger role than ever before in the global development of our sport. I welcome the new members and look forward to working with them, as well as with those they have joined, over the next four years. »
