Meeting in Athens, the executive committee of International Committee of the Mediterranean Games has confirmed the date of its next General Assembly. It will take place August 20th, in Taranto (Italy), on the eve of the opening of the Mediterranean Games. It will notably be marked by the election of the president and the executive committee for the 2026-2030 term. Since January, Mehrez Boussayene has held the position of interim president. His appointment followed the sudden death of the incumbent president, Davide TizzanoAt the end of December, at age 57. The names of the candidates will be revealed soon.
The executive committee has scheduled a meeting for a Next meeting on June 26th and 27thin Taranto. It will also be an opportunity to take stock of the progress of the work, as delays have been noted. Four months before the Games, the ICMG has warned of the need tointensify inspection visits to monitor the progress of the construction sites.
