Martina Hingis, holder of 15 Grand Slam titles, and after spending 209 weeks at the top of the women's tennis hierarchy, will enter the Tennis Hall of Fame next July.
“Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is an incredible honor. It’s truly a privilege to be part of this group of tennis legends,” declared the former Swiss player.
Australian tennis legend Thelma Coyne-Long was elected in the "Masters" player category, along with ATP co-founders Cliff Drysdale and Charlie Pasarell, as well as player manager and Madrid tournament director , Ion Tiriac, were named in the Builders category.
The induction ceremony will take place on July 13 in Newport.
