The Moroccan city of Marrakech is establishing itself this year as a stronghold of African athletics. Already chosen to host the African Championships, from August 10 to 14, then the IAAF Continental Cup on September 13 and 14, it has been designated to also host the Mohammed VI meeting, scheduled for June 8. The event was scheduled for Rabat, but it had to be moved as the Rabat stadium was currently being renovated.
