A Chengdu 2025 effect? ​​Less than a year before the next World Games, scheduled for August 7-17, 2025 in the Chinese city, the International Canoe Federation (ICF) has recorded a record participation in the marathon world championships. They take place from September 19-22 in Metkovic, Croatia, and serve as a qualifier for the 2025 World Games, where the discipline will be on the competition program. No fewer than 532 athletes are entered. They come from 40 countries. The 2024 World Championships will distribute 20 K1 places for Chengdu 2025, for men and women. With more than 50 entrants, an unprecedented number, the short distance senior K1 event promises to be the most competitive of the World Championships.
