The Olympic Games will last three weeks in 2028! The organizing committee has confirmed the dates for the football tournaments. First lesson learned: The men will kick things off on Monday, July 10th.four days before the opening ceremony. The women will enter the competition on July 11. The finals will take place on July 28 for the men and July 29 for the women.

Another issue, given the chosen stadiums, is the geographical distribution of the matches. Up to and including the quarterfinals, all matches in the men's tournament will take place in New York, Columbus, Nashville, and St. Louis. A way to limits excessively long journeysSome women's teams, however, will not escape it: they will play matches in the four cities mentioned above, but also on the other side of the country, in San Diego and San Jose.
The format will be the same for both men and women during the final week: a semi-final in San Diego, the other at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, the bronze medal game in San Diego and the grand final in Pasadena. San Diego Stadium will be the most served, hosting eleven matches. In total, New York Stadium, Columbus Stadium, and Nashville Stadium will each host nine games. Eight games will be played in St. Louis, seven in San Jose, and five in Pasadena.
