Los Angeles 2028

The Los Angeles 2028 organizing committee has decided: the LA Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium, located in Inglewood, will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Both venues were already on the map, as the historic Coliseum will host athletics events and that the ultra-modern SoFi Stadium, home of the Rams NFL franchise, will be transformed into a swimming pool.

"The sites selected for the 2028 opening and closing ceremonies will showcase Los Angeles' rich sports history and cutting-edge edge, showcasing the best LA has to offer on the world stage, said LA28 President Casey Wasserman. These two extraordinary sites will create an unforgettable experience, welcoming fans from around the world to an Olympic and Paralympic Games like never before and concluding what will go down as one of the most incredible Games in history.”

The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, on July 14, 2028, will be shared between the two stagesThe closing ceremony will, however, be held entirely at the Coliseum. Two weeks later, The Paralympic Games will open at SoFi Stadium on August 15, and will close at the Coliseum on the 27th. Additional information regarding these ceremonies, as well as the updated Paralympic Games venue map, will be communicated shortly.
