The International World Games Association (IWGA) and the Organizing Committee of the Chengdu 2025 World Games held several meetings over the past week. The discussions included transport, catering, accommodation, anti-doping measures and the broadcasting strategies in place to ensure the success of the event. In its press release, the IWGA welcomes having received "exciting information regarding the design of the opening and closing ceremonies show, as well as detailed plans for the very first torch relay in the history of the World Games". This relay is due to start on July 26, around ten days before the opening of the competition.
"The Organizing Committee, the IFs, the NOCs, the partners and the IWGA are working hand in hand to organize a phenomenal event that will exceed expectations and will reach levels never reached before , assures Tom Dielen, vice-president of the IWGA. As always, we were warmly welcomed by our Chinese friends, and we are very satisfied with the progress reported during the week." Chengdu will be able to get into the swing of things a little more concretely this weekend by hosting the World Games Series (March 28-30).
