
The Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC) has officially signed the guest contract with Lignano Sabbiadoro for the organization of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in 2027The contract was signed in Trieste by EOC President Spyros Capralos, the Secretary General Carlo Mornati, the President of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) Giovanni Malago, as well as the Mayor of the city, the President of the Region and the President of the Organising Committee. Lignano Sabbiadoro will become the first city to host two editions of the EYOF, having already hosted the event in 2005.
“The EYOF is much more than medals. It’s about transmit the Olympic values, underlines Spyros Capralos. The Young European Olympic Ambassadors program will once again play an important role in this regard. We are grateful to have found partners who share our belief in the power of Olympism and the importance of inspiring young people through sport." The mayor of Lignano Sabbiadoro, Laura Giorgi, also expressed her enthusiasm: “Everyone who attends the EYOF in 2027 will experience something truly extraordinary in Lignano. This event will be unique not only in terms of sport, but also in terms of emotional impact, creating unforgettable memories linked to Lignano and the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. I can only express my enthusiasm and our commitment to organizing the best possible event."
