
The International Climbing Federation has a new secretary general. The IFSC has announced the appointment of Piero Rebaudengo (66 years old) with immediate effect. It succeeds Debra Gawrych to this position. Rebaudengo was Director General of the IFSC since December 2019 and had demonstrated “a strong commitment to the development and governance of climbing” according to the FI press release: "His appointment marks an important step in the IFSC's ongoing efforts to strengthen itself institutionally and align with best practices promoted by the IOC and ASOIF." Bronze medalist in volleyball at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, the Italian will have to implement the federation's strategic priorities and strengthen efficiency and cohesion within the organization.
