
At just 41 years old, Kirsty Coventry is the youngest candidate in the running for the IOC presidency. An asset that the former swimmer logically puts forward. In an interview with InsidetheGames, she recalled the advantage of her profile. "As a woman and someone younger than many of the other candidates, it gives the opportunity for the movement to remain relevant and to show that we are truly a global organization. I want to help communicate better with the audiences we are trying to serve through the Olympic Games,she explains. The way we communicate should be young and attractive. I truly believe that young people want to get involved with us, but we have to speak their language, be in tune with their way of connecting. Everything young people do today is on their phones, so how can the Olympic movement adapt to this change and reach nine-year-olds?
She notably mentioned the possibility of rely more on streaming in this perspective.
