A new face at FIFA. The body has announced that it has hired British national Jill Ellis (pictured above), 58, as its new director of football. Known for being the only coach to have won two editions of the Women's World Cup, with the United States in 2015 and 2019, her mission will be to oversee the development and implementation of FIFA's global football strategy. She will work with Frenchman Arsène Wenger, FIFA's director of global football development. Ellis was most recently the president of San Diego Wave FC, a club in the United States' professional women's league (NWSL), which she led to the national title - the NSWL Shield - in its second year of existence.
