The national press reports that the country's political authorities are now saying they are ready to support Nairobi's bid, led by the Athletics Kenya Federation (AK) and its president, Jack Tuwei. Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Sports Kipchumba Murkomen has publicly expressed the government's support for the project, specifying that the upgrading of the Kasarani stadium would be completed by 2025. He has also promised additional financial support for the National Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK), whose funding has been significantly reduced this year, and for the organization of training camps for young athletics hopefuls starting next year.
