The outgoing president, Georges N'Goan was the only candidate to succeed him. The candidacy of his opponent, François Xavier Akonde, had been rejected by the independent electoral commission on the grounds that Three sports federations whose officials appear on the aforementioned list as candidates for the CNO executive committee are not on the electoral college list published on April 15. The individuals in question represented the Ivorian federations of hiking, dodgeball, and netball. The application was therefore deemed inadmissible. At this stage, it is still unknown when the General Assembly will be able to take place.
