Italy wants more. Already designated by UEFA to organize, with Turkey, the men's Euro in 2032, it is now also eyeing the women's version. The Italian Football Federation announced through its president, Gabriele Gravina, its decision to apply to host the Women's Euro in 2029. The project would allow Italy to test its ability to organize a continental tournament, three years before the Men's Euro. It would also have the merit of involving a greater number of cities, the women's dossier proposing " stadiums not included in the Euro 2032 bid." Italy is competing with Germany, Portugal and a joint bid from Sweden and Denmark. UEFA will choose the host country(ies) in 2025, ahead of the Women's Euro in Switzerland (July 2-27).
