Twenty years later, Islamic Solidarity Games return to Riyadh this year. The Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) has confirmed that the sixth edition of the event will be held in the capital of Saudi Arabia from November 7 to 21. This date was validated after discussions between the ISSA, the organizing committee, the national Olympic committees and the international federations. The Islamic Solidarity Games will thus avoid "competition from other major sporting events and other Islamic festivals". More than 4.000 athletes from 57 countries are expected. The sports programme, not yet finalised, will be “dynamic”, promises ISSA. Nineteen sports were represented at the the previous edition, in TürkiyeIn 2022.
