The President of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Mohammed Jalood visited Tehran last weekend. Accompanied by Eshaq Ebrahim Eshaq, delegate of the IWF Executive Committee, he met with the Iranian Minister of Sports and Youth, Ahmad Donyamali, Iranian NOC President Mohamoud Khosravi Vafa, leaders of the Iranian federation as well as athletes.
« Iran has a long and very successful tradition in our sport, having produced many top athletes. During our stay, we were able to visit the excellent facilities made available to the best weightlifters in the country, which demonstrates the high priority given to our sport " said the IWF president as Iran will host the sixth edition of the Fajr Cup this fall, from November 26 to 30.
