In June, the International Canoe Federation (ICF) and the European Canoe Association launched a joint appeal for solidarity support Ukrainian athletes, deprived of stable conditions for preparation since the Russian invasion in 2022. Hungary responded: Seven Hungarian clubs donated a total of 21 boats and five paddles, sent to Berehove, in western Ukraine. Peter Karai, a member of the ICF and ECA Board of Directors, thanked the Hungarian federation for this gesture.
A Danish club has also agreed to donate 100 kayaks over the course of the year and contribute up to 20.000 euros towards transport costsThe first part of this material will be handed over in September, during the World Marathon Championships in Gyor (Hungary).
