The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) is wasting no time. It has announced an agreement with the mayor of Long Beach to set up its Olympic House there during the Los Angeles Games. The city is home to one of the oldest Greek communities in the United States and will host a large number of events in 2028.
« It is an honor to have been selected by the Hellenic Olympic Committee as the location of the Hellenic Olympic House for the 2028 Games, said Mayor Rex Richardson. Greece is the historic heart of the Olympic Games, and their presence in Long Beach will bring a whole new level of excitement and historical and cultural value to our community. We look forward to welcoming them to our incredible city. »
« In Los Angeles, thanks to this House, we will share our culture, our history, our traditions and the values of Olympism – excellence, friendship and respect – which remain our most powerful contribution to humanity " insists HOC President Isidoros Kouvelos. The Hellenic Olympic House will host various events and exhibitions related to Greek history, culture, and arts. It will also serve as a venue for exchange and celebration of athletes.
