Double blow for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Milwaukee Bucks player, twice crowned MVP of the regular season in the NBA, will play his first Games in Paris, Greece having won one of the last four tickets to the Olympic tournament last week, by dominating Croatia. A success completed by his appointment as flag bearer of the Greek delegation for the opening ceremony. He will become the first black athlete to carry the flag of Greece, the cradle of the Olympics. Friday July 26, he will lead the Greek delegation – the first to march during the athletes' parade – in the company of walker Antigoni Drisbioti, 40, bronze medalist on the 35 km last year in Budapest. Born in Greece but of Nigerian origin, Giannis Antetokounmpo grew up with his family in the Sepolia district of Athens. He obtained Greek citizenship in 2013.
