It's done. Deaf to criticism, the German government adopted on Wednesday March 26 an anti-doping bill providing for up to three years in prison for athletes guilty of doping and those in possession of doping products. “There must no longer be victories and medals at any cost,” said Heiko Maas, the German Minister of Justice. The text will only concern high-level German athletes, i.e. around 7.000 athletes who appear on the lists of the national anti-doping agency (NADA). But it still has to be submitted to Parliament. According to Heiko Maas, this measure would be likely to strengthen Hamburg's candidacy for the 2024 Summer Games.
