Since the first edition in Baku in 2015, the European games have never taken place in Western Europe. But that could change in 2031. The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) has expressed its interest in hosting this edition to the European Olympic Committees. At this stage, the host city that would bid is not yet known.
The awarding of the 2031 European Games is expected in spring 2027before the Istanbul Games. For the DOSB, the organization of these Games is fully in line with its national strategy for major sporting eventsbecause it integrates harmoniously into the dynamics of actions undertaken to welcome the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Germany between 2036 and 2044 " the body emphasizes.
