The appetite for French basketball seems insatiable. A candidate to host part of the 2015 men's Euro in the event of Ukraine's withdrawal, the FFBB also wishes to organize the Women's World Cup in 2018. Its president, Jean-Pierre Siutat, announced this on his Twitter account. “The #ffbb has responded positively to the call for applications for the organization of the 2018 #fiba women’s basketball world championship,” he wrote on the social network. The president of the FFBB also indicated, also on Twitter, that he had “sent a letter of interest” for the organization of the Men’s World Cup in 2019, an event which will qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020.
