France presents its heads of mission

The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) and the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF) have announced the identities of the mission leaders who will accompany the athletesof the French team during the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Fabien Saguez, president of the French Ski Federation, will be the Olympic chef de mission, assisted by Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, president of the French Ice Hockey Federation, who will focus on the ice events in Milan. "I will put all my experience and expertise to make sure our French team is ready in a little over a year, he explains in a press release. The goal is to support staff and athletes before and during these Games in order to put them in the best possible conditions to get on the podiums. I will put all my energy into it, alongside the CNOSF teams."

Marie Bochet (photo above) will take on the role of Paralympic mission leader of the French delegation. "An obvious fact", according to Marie-Amélie Le Fur, president of the CPSF. "This is not an honorary choice but rather a conviction that a recognized personality was needed to embody this role. With in sight the 2030 French Alps Olympic and Paralympic Games, Marie Bochet will put her expertise and vision at the service of the mission entrusted to her, I am convinced of it", she assures. The eight-time Paralympic alpine skiing champion, who was the flag bearer at the PyeongChang Games in 2018, expressed her "immense pride" at the dawn of these Games, which will be held 6 to 15 March 2026: "I will be keen to put my experience and my passion at the service of the athletes and supervisors of the French team and promoting Paralympic values, as was the case last summer in Paris."
