The 2024-2025 Biathlon World Cup concluded Sunday in Oslo. Beyond the distribution of the globes, the Nations Cup standings is now final, which is not insignificant since it serves as a basis for the allocation of quotas for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic Games. Leading among men and women, France obtains six quotas, the maximum, in both categories. Same reward for Sweden, second for women and third for men. Norway (six quotas for men, five for women) and Germany (five quotas for men, six for women) do almost as well. The top three in the ranking earn six quotas, compared to five for nations in ranks 3 to 4 and four for the other ten nations that complete the top 10. Countries ranked beyond the top 20 will be able to obtain one or two quotas per gender next season via the IBU qualification points list.
