France and Senegal make common cause

The rapprochement between Paris 2024 and Dakar 2026 occurs at the level of sports federations. As proof, the signing, the day after the end of the Roland-Garros tournament, of a cooperation protocol between the French and Senegalese tennis federations. It was signed by Gilles Moretton, the president of the FFT, and his Senegalese counterpart, Issa Mboup. Objective: to combine their efforts and resources to prepare for the Paris 2024 Games and then the Dakar 2026 Youth Games, but also to support the development of tennis in Senegal. Signed until December 31, 2026, the partnership agreement is based on an exchange of expertise in the tennis and events training sectors. Starting this year, the FFT will make all of the content of its training institute (LIFT) available to the Senegalese Tennis Federation (FST). She will also share her know-how in the selection and maintenance of clay for the Diamniadio academy in Dakar, site of the tennis events at the YOG 2026. Finally, she will train Senegalese referees and ball boys. and will support the structuring of a high-level sector.
