Paris, here we are (again)! The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) announced on Monday, March 17 that the next European Flag Football Championship will be organized in France, at the Choisy Paris-Val de Marne Interdepartmental Park, southeast of the capital. The competition will take place from September 25 to 27, 2025 and will be qualifying for the 2026 World Championship. Both men's and women's national teams will be concerned. "This event will be an exceptional showcase for this beautiful discipline, accessible to all, and a powerful lever for its development in France”, rejoices Frédéric Paquet, president of the French Federation of American Football (FFFA). France had already organized the Euro in 2011.
A few days earlier, Austria will be in the spotlight with the U15 and U17 European Championships (September 3-7) on the Innsbruck side. "We are taking another important step in the development of our sport, says IFAF President, Frenchman Pierre Trochet. In view of the 2026 Flag Football World Championships and, ultimately, the beginnings of flag football at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, our continental championships provide an excellent platform to accelerate the global growth of this sport and strengthen its international appeal, particularly among young and new audiences. France and Austria will be fantastic hosts who already have excellent teams and passionate flag fans who will create an incredible atmosphere."
