The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and the International School Sports Federation (ISF) are working together. They have signed a memorandum of understanding to support the promotion of snow sports with youth. The two federations will collaborate in different areas and will work closely together with the aim of launch an international school snow sports championship by 2027.

« Our mission is to create enriching opportunities for young people, where they can discover new sports and thrive in a safe educational environment, explained ISF President Željko Tanasković. In collaboration with FIS, we are opening a new chapter for winter sports, and I am confident that this partnership will lead to a long and fruitful collaboration that will inspire the next generation of athletes. »

Urs Lehmann, the new CEO of FIS, hopes in particular that this memorandum of understanding will make it possible to " combat the well-documented decline in sport participation among adolescent girls, while championing sustainability, fair play and integrity through sport ". The Swiss leader also believes that " This partnership reflects our shared values and our ambition to inspire the next generation of ski and snowboard enthusiasts ».
