Home run! Baseball and softball will be on the program. 2029 University Games in North CarolinaThe information was confirmed following a visit by a delegation from the World Baseball/Softball Confederation (WBSC) to FISU headquarters in Lausanne.
Le WBSC President, Riccardo Fraccari, was accompanied by his executive director Michael Schmidt and his director of operations Marco Ienna to exchange views with the president of FISU, Leonz Eder, and strengthen the collaboration between the two organizations.
The two sides discussed potential innovations in rules and regulations, and a possible integration of Baseball5. Baseball has not appeared at the University Games since 2017. It was not selected to be on the program for the next edition, in South Korea, in 2027.
