FIFA is generous. The world football body has decided to distribute the very respectable sum of 50 million dollars to three international organisations: the WHO, the WTO and the UNHCR. They will share an envelope drawn from the legacy fund of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In detail, FIFA will support the World Health Organisation (WHO) through the “Beat the Heat” initiative, intended to protect people working in regions exposed to extreme heat linked to climate change. With the World Trade Organisation (WTO), it will finance the Women Exporters Fund in the Digital Economy, a programme aimed at helping women exploit the opportunities of international trade and the digital economy through grants and technical assistance. Finally, FIFA will provide its support and resources to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), to develop its programmes for refugees and displaced people from the Middle East and North Africa. As a reminder, FIFA announced last year a gross profit of 5,8 billion dollars linked to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
