The Youth Olympic Games organizing committee has officially launched its volunteer program Monday. Named Jambaar26 (from the Wolof word "jambaar," which could be translated as "hero"), this program is intended to allow recruit 6.000 volunteers in order to ensure the success of the YOG in logistics, transport, accreditation, ceremonies, media services and spectator support.
The application process will last two months and will end on January 31, 2026. Anyone aged 18 or older is eligible to apply. basic knowledge of French and English are requested. Selected volunteers will be required to participate in training sessions offered by COJOJ and be available for at least ten days during the Games. A national tour is planned until December 7th in all 14 regions of Senegal to mobilize and encourage registrations.
