The Dakar 2026 Learning Academy is taking stock. In 2025, the program enabled train 163 young peopleaged 21 to 35, for strengthen the organizing committee's staff of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. Among them, 88 women and 75 men. Dakar 2026 also specifies the age ranges of its recruits: 45% have between 21 and 25 years, 35% are between 26 and 30 years old, and 20% are in the 31-35 age range.
The Academy continues its mission at the start of this year with a fifth cohort, composed of 32 peopleThe COJOJ (Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Youth Games) cast its net across the continent: in addition to drawing on the Senegalese talent pool, it recruited 22 candidates from... 21 other African countriesRepresented are South Africa, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Gambia, Mauritius, Madagascar, Morocco, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Togo, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Chad, and Zambia. This diversity allows the whole of Africa to be involved in the continent's first Olympic event.
