A fire accidentally broke out on the site that was supposed to accommodate the Climbing World Cup stage in Curitiba in less than a month (May 16-18). The fire caused no injuries but caused damage. Nevertheless, the IFSC remains faithful to its plans and does not plan to disrupt the schedule, keeping all confidence in the local organizing committee.
« We would like to assure all our partners and participants that the event will take place as planned and that no cancellation or postponement is envisaged " clarified the body in a press release. Janine Cardoso, president of the organizing committee, thus affirmed "that this situation can and will be managed effectively and professionally and that the event will proceed as planned."The site was being worked on at the time of the fire.
