Another strong point: the presence in the French team, among those called to speak before the 17 voting members of the FIS, of the Austrian Claudia Riegler, the wife of Antoine Dénériaz, the Olympic downhill champion . Born in Austria, but not selected for the national team, she played a large part of her career in the colors of New Zealand, her mother's country. As a reminder, the Courchevel-Méribel candidacy is in competition with the Austrian resort of Saalbach. The host city for the Alpine Ski World Championships in 2023 will be chosen on Thursday, May 17 at the end of the afternoon.
