In office since 2004, Chungwon Choue will continue to lead World Taekwondo for several years. The South Korean will be the only candidate for the post of president at the the General Assembly to be held on October 23 in WuxiHe will therefore assume a new mandate, which will lead him up to 2029.
There will be more uncertainty for the three vice-presidential seats at stake with six candidates: Driss El Hilali (Morocco), Jinbang Yang (South Korea), Athanasios Pragalos (Greece), John Kotsifas (Australia), Juan Manuel Lopez Delgado (Mexico) and Chun Jae Park (United States).
World Taekwondo also recorded 34 applications for the 14 positions on the Board of Directors : three from Africa, twelve from Asia, ten from Europe, five from Oceania and four from America.
