China will soon regain its place in the international figure skating calendar. Meeting for three days in Budapest (June 9-11), the ISU Council allocated a series of European and global events for the next five seasons. Among them, the Four Continents Championship, a winter classic, for the 2025-2026 financial year. It will be held in Beijing in January 2026. Canceled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was held in Tallinn in 2022 and then in Colorado Springs this year. It is planned for Shanghai next season. For the rest, the international federation has awarded Kaunas, Lithuania, the organization of the European figure skating championships in 2024 (January 8 to 14), and Rotterdam the hosting of the short-track World Championships in 2028.
