China puts its thumbs up

Canoe

The series continues. It now extends to the year 2023. The International Canoe-Kayak Federation (ICF) announced in a press release the cancellation of the 2023 world championships for whitewater slalom and sprint, juniors and under 23s. They were planned in China, in the province of Fujian. The reason is the health crisis and possible travel restrictions imposed by the Chinese authorities. The ICF explains that an inspection visit to the competition site was organized by the Chinese Canoe Federation. It did not ensure that travel restrictions will be completely lifted next year. A new call for applications has been opened. Potential applicants must come forward no later than July 15, 2022. China has already canceled or postponed all international sporting events planned on its soil in 2022, with the exception of the Beijing Winter Games. She is now starting to do the same for the year 2023.
