Canada bets on a heroine from Turin 2006

Milan-Cortina 2026

Like France and Greece, Canada has announced the name of its chef de mission for the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games. The COC has entrusted this responsibility to the 2006 Olympic mogul skiing champion, Jennifer Heil. She had brought back another medal, silver, at the 2010 Vancouver Games. As head of mission, she will offer "direction and support" to the Canadian team, and will act as its spokesperson. “I feel extremely fortunate to be entrusted with this honor. The Olympic Games are about courage, heart, and redefining what is possible, not only for medals, but also for opening doors for future generations in sport and beyond”,she says. Today, more than ever, I feel an immense pride in being Canadian. »

Eric Myles, COC Head of Sport, is full of praise for her: “Some leaders are chosen for their experience, others for their heart. Jenn offers both. She will be a perfect mentor for canadian athletes , who will greatly benefit from what she has learned from her own inspiring journey. It is also fitting that Jenn is Canada's Chef de Mission for the return of the Winter Olympics to Italy, exactly 20 years after winning gold there in Turin 2006. » Jennifer Heil has received several awards for her career, including the Canadian Order of Sport, awarded by the Governor General of Canada.
